Goodbye Eri - masterpiece, boy meets girl, make a film together
Look Back - masterpiece, semi-biographical about becoming a manga artist, movie adaptation came out earlier this year
Uzumaki - masterpiece, horror stories about spirals
The Enigma of Amigara Fault - great chilling short story that has a moral I think will relate a lot to people our age
The Hanging Balloons - incredible short horror about balloons that hunt down and hang people
Layers of Fear - favourite horror art
My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness - masterpiece, autobiography about the author being depressed and paying a prostitute to take her virginity. Extremely compelling.
I’m More Dangerous than you - I quite like this one. About a college girl whose web-fiction becomes copycat murders in reality, also getting stalked by her professor. Apparantly it's similar to a bl called Killing Stalking, not that I'd know anything about that.
Liar Satsuki can see death - about a girl who can see future dead bodies and tries to prevent it. Ending is mid as hell, everything else is great.
I Love Amy - pretty fun, read it a year ago so don’t remember much. One of the main characters is like a yandere but I don’t remember if anything actually happens
5 seconds before a witch falls in love - fun comfort short enemies to lovers yuri
The Summer You Were There - read this one this morning actually. Pretty good, doesn’t overstay its welcome.
Tomie - back to horror. This one’s really good, I wasn’t expecting to like it. Anthology about how men fall in love with a supernatural girl called Tomie, and chop her up into little pieces.
Adabana - just finished this about 5 mins ago. Oh boy. It’s a complicated crime psychological thriller about horrible men exploiting young girls, and it’s expertly made. It’s not clear who’s telling the truth, which is the exact type of story I like. The stuff that happens in it is the type of stuff I despise, but that makes it even more compelling, even if it's a bit too black and white.
Black Lagoon - you’ve probably read it, good fun all around. Crime city, heavy cultural melting pot.
Love thy Neighbour - the one I told you about, where a neglected wife has a love affair with her neighbour. It’s really compelling, even though I hate cheating. I like it for the plot but there's a lot of finger-blasting in this. Like, too much honestly. Be nice if they spiced it up a little.
Love Bullet - the other one I told you about. Cupids who shoot bullets instead of arrows.
Usuzumi no Hate - pretty new one about a woman going around a post apocalypse world. Gorgeous art. Pretty philosophical
My new friend wasn’t what I expected - love the artstyle, pretty simple wholesome yuri about a girl with impeccable fashion
Girls Last Tour - masterpiece. Post-war apocalypse about two girls (not romantic) trying to survive. Watched tv show which covered 3/4 of the manga and then read the rest
Heavenly Delusion - phenomenal. Like The Last of Us where a guy is escorting a girl to a location in a post apocalypse world. Not finished yet though
The Summit of the Gods - masterpiece. I’ve only watched the film though. It’s about mountain climbing.
The Fable - watched the films, they’re pretty funny. About an assassin who is tasked with not killing anyone. I haven’t read all of the manga so don’t blame me if something fucked up happens in it
Otherside Picnic - great read. I’ve read the books, the art of the manga is a bit too cutesy for the actual story in my opinion. About two uni girls who explore a supernatural world. It’s horror, but watered down a lot. It’s ongoing, but tbh if the books ended right now it would be a good ending
Devilman - masterpiece. I watched the remake Devilman Crybaby on Netflix and it was stellar. About a war between devils and humans, but the themes are def more about segregation and violence. A lot of violence. Also, a lot of sex. Like straight up pornographic.
Pluto - mature take on Astro Boy. Haven’t read the manga, just watched the show, but it was extremely good and the author has a high reputation.
Berserk - you’ve definitely heard of it.
Blame! - also def heard of it
How do we Relationship - I see nothing but praise for this one, apparently it’s a very realistic take on relationships, but I want to wait for it to be completed. I actually think I’ll just read this soon.
Oyasumi Punpun - don’t know much about this one, heard it’s good and heavy tho
Monster - Made by the same person who made Pluto, a doctor saves a kid, who later grows up to be a serial killer. Pretty famous. I started the show but it’s sooooo long
I'll add stuff here later
